About Me
Hello and welcome to my portfolio! I'm Salma Amin, on the verge of submitting my PhD thesis in Human Resource Management, with a rich academic background in Management & Computer Science. For more than a decade, I have refined my expertise in empowering individuals on their personal and professional journeys, serving a freelance Life and Career Coach and holding key academic positions as an Assistant Professor, Center Coordinator, and Academic Counselor.
Beyond the world of research and design, you'll likely find me trekking, and embracing the beauty of nature. My passions extend to various creative pursuits. I find joy in fashion designing, embroidery, painting, crocheting, and exploring the nuances of graphology.
In addition to my creative pursuits, I find joy in people-watching and uncovering the unique stories each person carries. During a routine visit to my dentist, a notable incident caught my attention. Being naturally curious, I couldn't help but notice that my dentist was right-handed. This sparked my curiosity about the challenges faced by left-handed dentists, leading to an insightful conversation with my dentist, who shared the nuances of accommodating left-handed colleagues. This experience reinforces my belief in the value of observing users in their natural settings and underscores the importance of accessibility in product design.

As an INFJ, my natural empathy and creativity have been driving forces throughout my professional journey. My transition into UX research was sparked by a prize-winning Design Thinking project at the university level, followed by proposing a Systems Thinking based digital solution in my PhD thesis to address skill shortages. Proficient in Figma, I've transformed my research & academic rigor, counseling expertise, and teaching experience into tangible UI designs and prototypes.
I believe in the power of networking. If you have exciting opportunities or insights to share, or if you're simply looking to expand your professional network, let's connect.
