Hi, I'm Salma Amin,
7+ years driving design for B2B SaaS & enterprise platforms
From 0-1 to Scale - Leading End to End Product Design
Senior Product Designer with a PhD in Management
Designing systems, workflows, and products for real-world complexity

About me
I’m a Senior Product Designer with 7+ years of experience leading the design of 0→1 products and large-scale B2B platforms—specializing in simplifying complex systems and improving how businesses operate at scale.
My work focuses on designing role-based enterprise workflows that are intuitive, efficient, and resilient at scale. I bring a strong scenario-thinking approach—anticipating edge cases, failure points, and system behaviors early to reduce friction and drive better outcomes.
I hold a PhD in Management and a BSc in Computer Science, bringing together systems-level thinking, business strategy, and technical depth. My doctoral research explored talent ecosystems as complex multi-stakeholder systems using systems thinking methods such as feedback-loop analysis and leverage-point identification. The research led to a workforce platform concept that continues to inform my interest in simulation, digital twins, and system-level intervention design.
Before transitioning into product design, I worked as a visiting faculty in management, along with experience as a center coordinator in BPO training institutes and a counselor—building a strong foundation in human behavior, learning systems, and organizational dynamics.
This cross-disciplinary background enables me to navigate complex domains, model system interactions, understand operational constraints, and design solutions aligned with user, business, and engineering needs.

Current Areas of Exploration
AI-enabled workflow automation and agent-based systems
Digital twin concepts and simulation-driven decision support
Process intelligence and operational optimization
Applying systems thinking to complex service and enterprise ecosystems

How I Approach Complex Problems
Great UX starts with defining the right problem. I focus heavily on discovery and framing—ensuring we solve root causes, not just symptoms.
My approach combines three complementary thinking lenses:
Design Thinking to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points
Systems Thinking to map the broader ecosystem of stakeholders, dependencies, and constraints
Scenario Thinking to anticipate how systems behave over time, including edge cases and real-world variability
This allows me to design solutions that are not only user-friendly, but also scalable, resilient, and aligned with long-term business outcomes.
